Heidi began her medical career in NYC, at a Level 1 Trauma Center in the Emergency Department, where she practiced for 2 years before transitioning to the specialty of orthopedic surgery. She worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, specializing in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery, where she had the opportunity to be a part of the medical staff for NFL, NBA, and college sports teams. She was also honored to be a guest instructor at the Cornell Medical School Physician Assistant Program. In 2009, Heidi relocated to Santa Monica, CA, and joined a private orthopedic practice specializing in spine surgery. Around this time, she had her first BOTOX treatment, and her love for aesthetic medicine was born! Wanting to share with others the sense of rejuvenation and refreshed confidence that she had experienced following her own treatment, her journey as an aesthetic Physician Assistant began. Heidi was lucky enough to join a growing medical spa in the Los Angeles area, Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center. She continued to work in both aesthetics and orthopedic surgery until relocating to Rocklin, California in 2018. In 2019, following her passion and love for aesthetics, she and her husband, Dr Rei Young, opened R+H Aesthetic Medicine. Today, Heidi continues to combine her love of medicine with the ability to bring out the inner beauty in her patients at R+H. She is a perfectionist with a conservative approach and prides herself on helping her patients become the best version of themselves. Her many years of surgical experience has taught her the importance of symmetry and precision, and this is conveyed in her aesthetic practice. She takes her time with her patients, listening to and hearing their concerns while formulating a specialized plan to help them age beautifully and slowly.

The moment you walk in you instantly feel like you're at a luxury med spa. The front desk staff is so welcoming and friendly. The staff in general is very sweet and comforting. I have gotten my first ever BOTOX and lip filler. I was so nervous but my injector made me feel so comfortable, and was incredibly knowledgeable and trusting. Her work is amazing and I am so thankful I was referred to this beautiful practice! If you're on the fence give them a try, you won't regret it! –B.A.

I had such a great experience with them! I literally just went because my Drs office is on the same street so I had no clue what I was getting into but let me tell you I felt so taken care of. It's my 30th birthday this week and the whole week has been icky so all I wanted was some Birthday 'tox! They made it such a chill little visit, worked with my budget & we're so comprehensive and gentle. Might not be the best B-Day but this office made my week! Great services & amazing staff. Excited for my follow up! –A.H.

My first time getting Masseter BOTOX & first time going to R+H Aesthetic and it was overall an amazing experience! All the staff were very kind and made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. I was nervous and had some questions and concerns but my injector was able to answer everything and more. Nothing but great things to say about my experience. Will definitely be going back! –G.B.

Had my first session of BOTOX today, never had BOTOX before this (I just turned 30). Everyone was so welcoming, professional, and very experienced. I never thought I would get BOTOX as I was always so against it and just thought it just wasn't for me. However, having had a baby 2 years ago, I noticed my face had aged and I just didn't feel/look like myself anymore. I had done my research prior to coming in and I was gifted a gift card to their establishment by good friends of mine. I am so excited to see my results from today's appointment! I highly recommend them, it was smooth, painless, and reasonably priced! Overall I am extremely happy with my experience! –K.F.

The entire R+H family is wonderful! I have been going to R+H for my BOTOX & occasional lip filler for 4 years now & every treatment has been perfect. The office is beautiful, they carry the best products, & truly care about each patient & give nothing but the best service. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my treatments. I love how my treatments look very natural & I always leave feeling amazing & refreshed! –D.D.

BOTOX Aftercare Instructions

BOTOX Aftercare Instructions

Taking the best care of your skin after your BOTOX treatment will work synergistically with the results of BOTOX to mitigate the signs of aging and help to slow aging in the future. This includes medical grade skin care, protecting your skin from the sun, staying hydrated, and eating a healthy, balanced diet. Our experienced R+H providers are happy to provide a personalized skin care consultation with recommendations of a daily skin care routine at your BOTOX appointment.

There is little downtime associated with a BOTOX treatment. You can return to your daily routine with a few exceptions.

Recommendations for the day of your BOTOX procedure are as follows:

  • Do not push, massage, manipulate, or ice the area treated
  • Avoid vigorous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, excessive sun exposure
  • Avoid tight hats or garments over the area treated
  • Facial muscle exercises are recommended for the first hour after treatment
  • Avoid deep facials, lasers or skin resurfacing for 2 weeks after your treatment

We recommend you schedule your next BOTOX treatment in 3-4 months. Getting BOTOX consistently will not only treat current fine lines and wrinkles, but will also prevent new wrinkles from forming, slowing the aging process.

BOTOX FAQS

BOTOX FAQS

BOTOX is a neuromodulator derived from Botulinum Toxin Type A. It relaxes muscles to prevent movements that make fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, more youthful looking appearance. Botox is a safe and effective solution for anyone looking to mitigate aging signs caused by repetitive facial expressions. Restore your youth, erase wrinkles and fine lines, and reclaim your confidence with BOTOX.

How does BOTOX work?

BOTOX (Botulinum Toxin Type A) is a neuromodulator and it works by blocking the signal that causes muscle contractions allowing muscles to relax and lengthen. In doing so, it targets one of the underlying causes of expression lines and wrinkles — the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling, raising of the eyebrows, talking, and animating. Your provider will inject targeted muscles with BOTOX to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice your expression lines and wrinkles temporarily smooth out for a rejuvenated, refreshed and more youthful appearance. In addition, if BOTOX is done consistently it can slow and even prevent new wrinkles from forming and smooth out existing fine lines and wrinkles.

Is BOTOX safe?

BOTOX is FDA approved, has a very high patient satisfaction rate, and is one of the most researched injectables in the aesthetic industry, making it one of the safest and most effective anti-aging solutions. BOTOX is also used in other areas of medicine for therapeutic purposes, such as treating migraine headaches, muscle spasms, overactive bladder, lazy eye and sweating. As with any medical procedure, there are potential side effects and possible complications. At your appointment, your R+H provider can answer any questions or concerns you may have.

How can I save on my BOTOX treatment?

Be wary of discount products or “cheap” BOTOX – if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Your cost of BOTOX not only includes the price of the product, but more importantly, the skill, expertise and experience of the injector who is administering your treatment. At R+H, all of our injectors have been injecting BOTOX for many years (5+) and regularly participate in continuing education to improve their skills and knowledge. The best way to save money on your treatments is to enroll in Allē, the aesthetics loyalty program by the makers of BOTOX. With Allē, you can earn points and rewards for savings on future treatments. It’s easy and free to join! Become an Allē Member today to avoid missing out on exclusive offers and rewards at the following link.

When will I start seeing results and how long does BOTOX last?

You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours, with full results in 14-30 days. Clinical studies show results last on an average of 3-4 months depending on how much product is used and your anatomy. Results vary from patient to patient. Your provider will recommend your next treatment based on your results and aesthetic goals.

How much BOTOX will I need?

Clinical studies of BOTOX recommend a total of 64 units for the upper face, however every patient's anatomy and desired outcome differs. At R+H you will meet with your provider and you and your provider will decide on what is the best number of units for your unique anatomy and desired outcome. If treating other areas, such as lower face, platysmal bands, jawline, masseters, and underarms for sweating you will require additional units. Most patients require 50-100 units per treatment.

How much does BOTOX cost?

The cost of a BOTOX treatment is unique for each patient and depends on your anatomy, desired aesthetic goals and areas of treatment. You will consult with one of our expert injectors before your treatment to discuss your desired outcome and a personalized estimate will be given. The price of BOTOX is $13/unit, with most patients requiring 50-100 units per treatment.

Will my face look overdone or unnatural?

At R+H, our approach is conservative. You can trust BOTOX and our expert injectors to deliver natural-looking results. With your unique aesthetic goals in mind, we want you to look like yourself–only refreshed, with less noticeable lines and wrinkles. No one should be able to tell you’ve had BOTOX, but will ask what you have been doing to look so refreshed and renewed.

Is BOTOX only for women?

No! Many men make BOTOX (Bro–TOX) part of their self care regimen. The number of men choosing treatments like BOTOX has risen fast – in the past three years alone, men have received over one million botulinum toxin treatments. When surveyed, the majority of men say they want to look good and they're bothered by the changes they see in the mirror. At R+H, our skilled injectors will tailor your treatment to your unique goals.

What is the best age to start BOTOX?

It's not your age that determines when BOTOX is right for you, it's the severity of your lines. The best age to start BOTOX is when you start to see fine lines and wrinkles starting to form. Everyone's lines and wrinkles form differently. The timing can be influenced by a combination of factors, from cellular changes that may occur over time, to reduction of collagen, to genetic factors, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment. BOTOX can not only help to treat fine lines and wrinkles, but can also prevent or slow new lines from forming. This is why many patients start BOTOX injections as young as their mid-20s and 30s. You can schedule a consultation with one of our experienced injectors and they can help you determine if BOTOX treatment is right for you.

Is BOTOX preventative?

Yes, BOTOX is preventative. BOTOX prevents muscles from contracting, preventing fine lines and wrinkles from forming. This is why so many younger patients in their 20s and 30s are getting BOTOX injections as a preventative measure to prevent fine lines and wrinkles before deep creases can develop.

How long does a BOTOX treatment take, and will it hurt?

Your R+H injector will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you. If your injector deems you to be an appropriate candidate, the injection may take place on that same day. Most patients report that being injected with BOTOX feels like a pinch, but is tolerable, and quick. Your provider may use a vibrating device during the treatment to minimize discomfort. Your total appointment time is usually 30-45 minutes (this includes a comprehensive consultation), with the procedure itself taking approximately 5-10 minutes.

What will the treated area look like after BOTOX injections?

Immediately following BOTOX injections the area may appear red and raised (like mosquito bites) but this resolves within 30 minutes and no one should be able to tell you had BOTOX. You may experience a small bruise, mild swelling, and soreness at the site of injection. There is minimal downtime with BOTOX, and you are able to apply make-up and skin care products immediately after the procedure.

What are the possible side effects and complications of BOTOX treatment?

The most common side effects associated with BOTOX injections is mild swelling, soreness, and a tingling sensation at the injections sites, which is temporary. Additionally it is possible to bruise at the injection site. Clinical studies have shown 3% of patients experienced eyelid drooping, 1% of patients experienced eyelid swelling, and 1% of patients experienced brow drooping in the Allergan clinical studies. Other possible side effects include: dry mouth; tiredness; headache; neck pain; eye problems: double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight and dry eyes; and allergic reactions. These possible side effects of BOTOX are rare and temporary.

What if I decide I do not like the effects of BOTOX?

The effects of BOTOX are temporary, and once worn off, you will return to your previous anatomy.

Who is not a candidate for BOTOX?

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, prior allergic reaction to BOTOX, inflammation or infection in the area to be treated, and patients with a history of diseases of the neuromuscular junction (myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton)
