Unstable economy. Recession. We've all been there. Even when we can afford something, the habit of saving kicks in, and we check Groupon for deals from nearby hairdressers, manicurists, and eyelash masters. While you should always be careful when it comes to bargain beauty treatments, here are
5 reasons you should not be shopping for bargain injectables:
- The “too-good-to-be-true” priced injectables might be from other countries whose regulations don’t meet FDA standards. Always ask your injector where they get their products. Just because those injectables are approved in other countries, it doesn’t mean they meet the high medical standards we use here for your safety.
- Some places over-dilute their products with saline to lower the cost, or even lie about the number of units you are getting, which means your results will not last as long and you will end up spending more in long term.
- Some medspas hire poorly trained injectors with little expertise to work for less, in exchange for building up their resumes and work experience.
- The products might be counterfeit or even expired.
- A quarter of all patients shopping for cheaper prices end up with complications that need to be fixed.
Don't hunt for deals on Groupon. A reputable medical practice does not need to resort to heavily discounted bargain websites. Do your research, read reviews, and don't take chances when it comes to your beautiful self.
